Course Overview
This regulated two-day training course offers a nationally recognised Level 3 FAA Award and Qualification. The course is available through classroom-based or online delivery and is accompanied by a course manual.
The course goes into detail on a wide range of mental health conditions and the support and help provided by healthcare professionals. It covers the content of both the Level 1 and Level 2 Awards and Qualifications. The learning takes place over two days through a mixture of group activities, presentations and discussions.
Participants will gain the knowledge to recognise a wide range of mental health conditions, how to start a supportive conversation and when and how to signpost a person to seek appropriate professional help. Participants will recognise and manage stress and understand the impact of substance abuse.
Participants will learn about the first aid action plan for mental health, be able to put it in place and understand how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace and gain the skills needed to support colleagues who are Level 1 and Level 2 Mental Health First Aiders. Each course is accompanied by a comprehensive set of resources as well as your own personal manual.
Participants will not be taught how to diagnose or treat mental health conditions, as this can only be carried out by professionals who have the appropriate knowledge, experience and qualifications.
